WHAT IS PROJECT: NEW BORN?

PROJECT: NEW BORN was the dream of Schatzi and Stanley Kassal of Miami. They created this organization which has raised $17 million (and counting) since its founding in 1973 to support neonatal research and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for infants at risk.

Today, The Schatzi and Stanley Kassal Project: New Born NICU of the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Medical Center continues to be that dream come true. Located in the Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson, it is a renowned facility for imperiled premature and high-risk newborn infants whose problems are too complex to be managed at other institutions.
